Xiaomi has announced a new special edition variant of the Mi Note that features a bamboo back, with the device set to go on sale in China from March 24.
The Natural Bamboo Edition, as the device is called, is priced at RMB 2299 ($370). The bamboo cover adds 0.9mm to the thickness of the device, but brings the overall weight down by 5g. Considering the manufacturing process, Xiaomi mentions that each device will be individual in that each Mi Note bamboo edition will have a distinct wood grain pattern.
The internal hardware is the same as that of the standard version of the Mi Note, which means we're looking at a 5.7-inch full-HD display, Snapdragon 801 SoC, 3GB RAM, 16GB internal memory, 13MP camera, 4MP shooter at the front, LTE connectivity, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.1 and a 3,000mAh battery.
Will we see the Mi Note Natural Bamboo Edition outside of China? Highly unlikely, but if we hear otherwise, we'll let you know.
