L G G watch

If you really want to get your hands, or rather your wrist, on an Android Wear smartwatch, Best Buy could have something that might be of interest. The retailer is currently selling the LG G Watch for just $149.99.

If you remember, the LG G Watch launched in June for the price of $229.99 and then in late August, Best Buy was selling the same smartwatch for $179.99, a $50 price cut. Now that cost has gone down to $80 off the original price and $30 off from the last time Best Buy put the device on sale.

Of course, this price cut comes even as a new circular smartwatch from the same company, the LG G Watch R, is due to launch in Korea next week and in other markets later in the fourth quarter. Does this price cut on the original LG G Watch make you want to buy the product now?

Thanks to Neil for the tip!

Nope, wouldn't wear it for free. Not a big fan of the first gen smartwatches but I'm sure I will be in a year or two when smartwatches mature a bit.

I would totally wear it for free. If it were to break or underperform, it wouldn't matter because I paid nothing for it.

Ignore the troll. Like he would really pass up on a free item.

Lg sucks monkey balls period. The Gear S pimps slaps any silly Lg notification watch so easily it's comical.

The nerd in me was excited for a minute. Then I remembered I don't wear a watch.

I didn't wear watches either, but had been fearing a fitbit and the transition was super smooth

This is very tempting. Just because I want to try one out and I don't care how it looks.(not that I think the g watch necessarily looks bad)

I'm 20 years old and I have never worn a watch except for those little toy ones from middle school. The geek in me would love a smartwatch but at the same time I already have my Moto X in my hand at all times.

Tempting, and my local BB has it in stock. I want to try out Android Wear. I did like the Galaxy watch I wore when I had my S5, but sold it with the phone. And I didn't really like the software on the Samsung Gear watch.

Don't judge until you wear. At full brightness it is easily visible outside.

Lol clunky? It's the size of the watch itself (a fraction of the size of any Qi charging pad), and attaches with magnets.

To be fair, Qi pads are typically larger merely because phones are larger and that's all people used then for up to this point (well, and the Nexus 7)... The coils can be pretty small tho, e.g. the little curved top of the upright Moto 360 charger.

I don't think LG's charger is clunky, the magnet attachment is better than Samsung's clip on, but I do prefer Qi because it's even easier and almost a standard... If there was no other watch with Qi or I actually preferred the LG's design the charger wouldn't be a deal breaker.

That's just me tho...

All the early adopters and tech nerds who really want a smart watch have bought one. These'll be $50 after Christmas. They might even be worth that much.

Sorry not for me...

No qi charging and I wouldn't get my money's worth out of it using it

I just got back from bb i bought a pebble Thursday night had a 100 gift card was not keen on it so took it back today when i seen these were on sale so i look at it like this only 50$ out of pocket so thats worth it. But after setting it up i think i like the feel of the pebble better we will see

Was going to buy it, then saw moto360 in stock and the last pebble stainless steel band. I believe I was the first to mentioned that it would work, and first to also consider the movers coupon. Just didn't do it because of the rumors of android 2.0 and need of hardware updates. Either way with the 40 best buy protection plan, I will upgrade once the second is out and return the 360. Yay!! Wed is so far away.

I'm wondering if I should return my 360 for this and save $100. From what I understand, with ambient mode off, this watch can last almost 3 times as long?

It's up to $159.00 USD now... I literally checked around 11:30pm ET last night--then fell asleep before ordering. Only to wake up around 2:00am ET and find a $10 increase. Still ordered it though. Lol

Lol. People weren't saying "no" when android central was giving these away for the contest. Everyone was begging too for one (myself included) but now it's dead to everyone.

$150 for any android wear is a great deal. It is first been by everyone knows that going in. The straps are easy to change on the lg vs the Samsung one. The moto 360 looks nice but the display does look pretty weak and I thought the lg had better battery life anyways. I'd love to see more of the first gen Android wear prices drop they all look like fun to use and try out. I'm tempted I'd definitely get this over a pebble

Ok now. This is getting WAY out of hand. So much, it's starting to anger me.

Invention of pagers useful and cool.
Invention of Cell phones Very cool and very useful
Having access to internet via cell phone extremely useful and cool.

Wearing a watch and having to carry your cellphone with you at the same time and are too lazy to take the cell phone out of your pocket to see your notifications UNBELIEVABLY retarded and extremely useless and a complete waste of useful resources. Anyone who buys an Android watch or an Apple watch need serious psychological counseling. Not to mention I hope anyone who spends their hard earned cash on this stupid watch gets it stolen or hope it drops and cracks the screen!!!

My new invention called the
fuelwatch. Able to see your notifications on your wrist when your gas tank becomes near empty and alerts you that you need to refuel. Best yet, no need to look at the dashboard of your car!!!

Do I have any buyers?

People have different sets of circumstances than you. I for one work in an environment where I cannot take a phone out of my pocket to answer a call or a text (my hands are sometimes covered in varying types of solutions, greases, solvents, etc.). I can however easily check my watch and opt to answer via voice response.

We're all different. Just because you think it's stupid doesn't mean nobody else can get a real benefit from it.

Rage much bro?

It's not about laziness, it's about convenience (and I realize there's a thin line between the two, but there is a line). While others are fumbling around with their phone every time they get a text or other notification, I can glance, take action, and get on my way. Doesn't matter if I'm cooking, doing yard work, woodwork, an oil change, or whatever else. Glance, talk if I need to reply, done. Cooking timer? Lift wrist, talk, done, no grease on my phone.
Your "fuel watch" scenario doesn't make any sense, because my car's fuel gauge isn't in my pocket or in another room. Hey, speaking of cars, I hope your car has no convenience features or power accessories. Because I heard on the internet that convenience features make you lazy.

Man you don't have to justify yourself to anyone. We want it cuz its cool, sifi films promised it to us and is our damn money. Now where the hell is my flying car?

Posted via the Android Central App

Nope. Getting the Gear S. But the LG R looks pretty sweet as well.

I love how $150 seems cheap for a notification window, show me an actual use and I'll give you no more than $100.

SCIFI watches include live screen interaction with the other person not just a thumbnail pic of them
