UK carrier restores service disruption after a power outage.
Update: EE informs us that the issue was caused by a power outage to one of its data centers, and that the problem has now been resolved.
An EE spokesperson said: ""Data services were affected for a small number of customers after one of our data centres experienced a power cut this afternoon caused by a third party. We immediately re-routed traffic to minimise disruption, and power was restored within two hours. Service has largely been restored to the majority of people, but a very small number of customers may still have difficulty connecting to the network. Customers still experiencing connection issues should switch their device off and on, or enable and disable 'Airplane Mode' to resolve the issue. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.""
Original story: In tweets to affected customers, the operator blamed the failure on "small percentage of customers are experiencing PDP failure," adding "We are currently working to resolve the issue."
The issue doesn't seem to be limited to any particular region, and has even been affecting roaming coverage for our EE devices in Spain this week during Mobile World Congress.
