What you need to know
- Google has confirmed a Made by Google event in New York on August 12 at 6 p.m. ET for the Pixel 11 series.
- The Pixel Watch 5 series is also expected to be announced at the August 12 event.
- The Pixel 11 series is expected to start at a higher price tag than the Pixel 10 series, although it may start with at least 256GB of storage.
Mark your calendars: Google has officially announced its next Made by Google event, where the Pixel 11 series is expected to launch, and it's happening on August 12.
Google has sent out press invites confirming it's hosting the event in New York on Wednesday, August 12 at 6 p.m. ET. That's a week earlier than last year's Pixel 10 launch, though the timing is notably later in the day than usual.
Google typically holds these events around 1 p.m. ET, but for the Pixel 11 series launch, the company is hosting it in the evening at 6 p.m. Eastern Time.
The company hasn't officially named the Pixel 11 series in the invite, instead using the phrase "next generation of Pixel," but that's exactly what everyone expects. Google is also anticipated to announce the Pixel Watch 5 series alongside it.
What to expect from the Pixel 11 launch on August 12
The invite itself has a very Apple-ish feel to it. It's pretty similar to how Apple sends out invites for its WWDC and iPhone launch events, and this is the first time Google has gone with something like this.
As for what the invite actually reveals, the teaser shows a gold-finish phone with the horizontal camera visor, which is enough to confirm it's a Google Pixel. Beyond that, there isn't much to go on from the poster itself.
On the leak front, the Pixel 11 series is rumored to start at 256GB instead of 128GB, which also points to a price increase over the predecessor. With RAM and memory component costs continuing to rise across the industry, it looks like the Pixel 11 series will be the next casualty of that trend.

There are also rumors of Google bringing the Pixel Glow indicator to the Pixel 11 series. The company has been rolling out the Glow light feature across its hardware lineup, first with the Googlebook earlier this year and then the Google Home Speaker last month, and it looks like the Pixel 11 will follow suit.
As always, Android Central will be on the ground at the Made by Google event to cover everything as it happens. What are you most excited about with the Pixel 11 series? Let us know in the comments below.
