  • A live photo of the upcoming Nokia 7.2 was shared online by a Zeiss employee today.
  • It shows a circular camera module housing three sensors and an LED flash.
  • The Nokia 7.2 is expected to debut at HMD Global's IFA 2019 press conference in Berlin next month.

HMD Global confirmed last week that it will be holding a press conference at the IFA 2019 tradeshow in Berlin on September 5. The Finnish company is expected to unveil at least two new Android smartphones at the event: Nokia 6.2 and Nokia 7.2. A live image of the upcoming Nokia 7.2 has now surfaced, courtesy of a Zeiss employee.

The live image (via Ishan Agarwal shows the Nokia 7.2 will have a circular camera module on the back with three camera sensors and an LED flash. A circular fingerprint sensor can also be seen positioned below the camera module.

Images showing an upcoming Nokia smartphone with an identical circular camera module on the back had been leaked on Weibo last month. In addition to showcasing the design of the smartphone, some of the images also shed light on the hardware specs of the phone. The leak had revealed the phone will feature a 48MP primary sensor, a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset, and run Android 9 Pie out of the box.

Rumors suggest the Nokia 7.2 will come with a 6.3-inch display featuring Full HD+ resolution, HDR10 compliance, and a waterdrop-shaped cutout. The phone could be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor, paired with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage.

Similar to last year's Nokia 7.1 and nearly all Nokia smartphones currently on sale, the Nokia 7.2 is expected to be a part of the Android One program.

Nokia 9.1 PureView with Snapdragon 855, 5G, and better cameras may arrive in Q4 2019

  • Latest rumors has it having the snapdragon 710
  • Excited for this.
  • Nice. I'll stick with the Nokia 7 line and see what they cook up next. This looks good, thought I'm not a huge fan of the way the lenses are positioned on the back of the phone. Too much is left exposed for potential damage, scratches, cracks etc. Still for now, my 7.1 is all shinny and happy, humming along while serving all my needs as a consumer. Soo glad I was able to return to Nokia, especially with a device like the 7.1. Probably my next device would be the 7.3 iteration or I might scale up to the 8 line. Hey the 6 line is not shabby either! Keep on keeping on HMD Global! I hope they stick with the Android One programme because it's the best of both worlds. Nokia hardware with pure Android software.
  • Very excited for this, and if it checks all boxes, I may just be looking at my very next phone.
  • I am a Nokia user and I'm excited about Nokia 7.2...
  • I've always been a big Nokia fan, throughout the whole history, including the Windows Phone era. However, I just bought my wife a 7.1 for Xmas last year, and it has made me look really bad. The phone has had a series of problem, abnormalities, and the support has been horrible. It finally died 2 weeks ago, because it was stuck in a bootloop after the last software update, and it has been sitting in a Nokia Service center ever since, with no updates from them at all. Sorry, but I can't recommend them to anyone anymore, and I feel I need to get the word out, about how bad their support is.
