The official Quest 3 Elite Strap with Battery deal is good, but these two alternatives are better
We've tested third-party options from Kiwi Design and BoboVR that upgrade your Quest 3 or 3S comfort and longevity for much less.
The default Meta Quest 3 and Quest 3S straps jut into your ears, absorb sweat, and fail to balance out the front-heavy design or keep them secure for exercise games. You need an upgrade, one that also improves the two-hour battery life, to get the best VR experience.
But Meta's official Elite Strap with Battery is quite expensive! Even with its 20%-off Black Friday deal ending Saturday night, it's $103 on Amazon, too high considering a full Quest 3S is only $249! Thankfully, out of the best Meta Quest 3 & 3S accessories, you'll find plenty of the best third-party options discounted for Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
Our first recommendation is KIWI Design, which makes excellent Elite-style straps. The H4 Boost Halo Strap is $63.99 (20% off), giving you an extra three hours of playtime while also offering an adjustable, cushioned forehead pad that lets you find the perfect viewing angle with less pressure on your face. Or for those who'd prefer a more traditional "Elite" style like Meta's strap, the KIWI Design K4 Boost is $55.98 (20% off) with the same battery upgrade.
This Halo-style strap is one of our personally tested favorites, with both additional cushioning and ventilation to keep your forehead cool, in addition to the standard adjustment knob on the back and doubled capacity. It'll work for both the Meta Quest 3 and Quest 3S, installable in minutes without any special tools.
Our usual top recommendation, the BoboVR M3 Pro Halo Strap, is still full price this year, unfortunately. Thankfully, BoboVR's top-end S3 Pro headstrap is available and sports an ultra-comfortable design and a built-in fan to keep you cool. Plus, it features a magnetically hot-swappable rechargeable 10,000mAh battery pack that pops on the back. It increases the Quest 3S battery life by 150%, and it adds a 3.5mm audio jack port (which the Quest 3S lacks), freeing up the USB-C port for the battery pack.
For the serious Quest gamers looking to stretch their Quest 3 or 3S battery life to the limit, the BoboVR S3 Pro strap gives you a serious cushion boost, a secure knobbed fit to go with hours of extra battery, and a fancy fan to keep you cool during the hottest VR sessions. In fact, it has a "hot-swappable" battery, meaning you can buy a second 10,000mAh pack for $29 on Amazon and swap it in the moment your first pack dies.
My colleague Nick, a Meta Quest megafan, also recommended the Yoges battery pack as an alternative Black Friday deal, if you're not satisfied with these options.
This Black Friday-to-Cyber Monday period has been a great one for people looking to get into VR gaming, with Quest 3S buyers getting $50 off plus a free $50 gift card at Best Buy, while PSVR 2 Call of the Mountain Bundle is down to $299 ($100 off) on Amazon. But for the VR vets who already have their headsets, it's a good time to look for accessories to upgrade your experience for less.
