Alcatel has made its Idol 4 series of phones official at Mobile World Congress, announcing both the Idol 4 and 4S. These phones follow in the footsteps of the rather popular Idol 3, but with a bit more style and polish to them. The Idol 4 is a 5.2-inch phone, while the Idol 4S is a bit larger, coming in at 5.5-inches with a QHD AMOLED display. On the inside, the Idol 4 is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 617 processor and comes equipped with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of on-board storage. The Idol 4S makes use of the Snapdragon 652 and offers the same 3GB of RAM but doubles the internal storage to 32GB.
Both the Idol 4 and 4S will launch with Android 6.0 Marshmallow loaded on them. As for the cameras, you've got a 13MP rear-facing camera on the Idol 4 compared to the 16MP sensor of the Idol 4S, and both have an 8MP front-facing unit. The other difference here is the battery, as the smaller Idol 4 comes with a 2610mAh battery, while the larger Idol 4S has a 3000mAh battery inside.Both models will be offered with four different metal frames: gold, dark gray, rose gold and metal silver.
Alcatel has yet to release pricing or availability information for the Idol 4 series of phones, so be sure to stay tuned for additional details as they are made available.
