Verizon Galaxy Nexus

I know. It's a silly question to ask. A more appropriate question would be are you willing to jump through the hoops necessary to get it? If so, we have just the guide that will help you get it taken care of. Courtesy of dmmarck in our very own forums, there is now a end-to-end guide to help you along provided you're willing to give it a go. You'll need to take care of some prerequisites but they're not all that hard to follow:

  • Go completely back to stock 4.0.4/IMM76K by using either Wug's Toolkit or my Return to Stock guide.
  • Unlock the device (if you relocked it) and install a custom recovery--either ClockworkMod or TWRP.
  • Flash the IMM76Q package using the custom recovery.
  • Flash the JRO03O update using the custom recovery.

That's the basics, for a more in depth guide with the full details you'll want to click the link below to head on into the Android Central forums. If you have questions or need help, sing out in there and someone will be able to help out for sure!

Couldn't we just flash this if we are on Jelly Bean already with the Jelly Bean bootloader? If it's just like flashing a Rom why all the extra caution?

dmmarck says:

The updates are patches. They patch from prior builds. You must be on the prior build for it to patch successfully.

Flash the IMM76Q package using the custom recovery.
Flash the JRO03O update via custom recovery.

Is there a reason you phrase these two steps differently?

dmmarck says:

No, I'll correct it though--that's my bad :).

moosc says:

Over at rootz the radios are available to flash. No need to flash whole rom

dmmarck says:

Yup. Been on them for a couple hours. We also have them in our radios thread, courtesy of Rootz of course.

shamu11 says:

If you don't mind, can I ask you a few questions about radios?

1. Can I flash radios on any jellybean rom (like xenon hd or AOKP)?
2. Are radios a permanent thing that cannot be undone unless an old one was flashed?
3. Do i flash radios at anytime as long as a rom is installed?
4. can I get that link?

thank you

Seeing a much more solid LTE signal. Can't tell what it's doing to the battery yet though, because I've been playing on it. I flashed the radios and bootloader.

CM10 Nightlies - TORO

FWIW, the original post in the thread has been updated with a video showing you exactly what you need to do from beginning to end.

There has been an AIO version of this so you can flash with whatever rom you are running.

I have noticed with this update and the very first ROM's that was made available from some DEVs is: when you are in the stock messaging app and get a text while typing the sound is lower than usual.

Even if you leave the keyboard up and sit the phone down after sending it's still lower than normal.
