Verizon: we will have it a month later than everyone else so we can install our bloatware and cripple it's features. But it will come in an exclusive color!

bah but what about AT&T?!?

I know a lot of people are complaining because its not a HUGE step but i'm still excited about it. At first i saw the back and was like "wtf?" its very much grows on you. I saw a comparison to the S4 back to the S5 and holy hell the S5 looks so much better. I like that its not glossy. I may not even put a case on my S5 when i get it.

I'm ready for AT&T to get their pre-order page up!

That's interesting! How does the 4 look any better/different??? Their quite similar in looks.

I don't use, or acknowledge the word ""troll"".

I agree. I'm not feeling the back cover and the chrome outer surrounding. My S4 has had a case on it since day one when I got it at release and part of the small chrome strip on the bottom right hand corner is starting to rub off.

And they call people who buy Apple products iSheep? At least they don't put the same specs and say it's new.. iPhone is always faster and better.. And about "new" TW.. But everyone buys what his heart wants.. I will get Z2 or HTC (will wait to see).. S5 doesn't deserve my money!

I'll sit and laugh at everyone and their TouchWiz crippled phone.

My Nexus 5 says your argument is invalid ;)

Lol, TouchWiz is hardly crippling my phone. Hell, with the Google Experience Launcher, I hardly even notice that it's there.

How about every time you go into settings? That's when I notice the awful touchwiz design. I really do love all the extra features that Samsung puts into their phones that everyone else will call gimmicks but I just can't stand the looks of touchwiz. I run nova launcher and finally said screw it and put on Carbon ROM. I don't think the features will be enough for me to get the S5 this go around.

Trust me, it's understandable why most people wouldn't spring for the S5. I'm a little disappointed that Samsung didn't change their design language.

Sadly, the only reason it hasn't crippled your phone, is that nice Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 and the 3 GB of RAM on the phone. However I'm glad someone likes Samsung, they do keep pushing the envelope on Android phone development and pushing crApple further down the rabbit hole...

Yeah, but that momentum is going to steadily slow down, if other Android manufacturers and Apple start pushing the envelope and picking up Samsung's slack.

I'm excited but also cautious. However my feelings after the S4 release and conference was "Meh.."

So that's a better response. I was surprised there was no mention of the smart screen stay on, eye viewing for web pages, IR blaster, and all the stuff before. I'm sure many are assuming it will be there but we really don't know yet. They announced some kind of wireless charging at the conference and different back covers too.

I'm mostly excited about the camera, the improved wi-fi, lte reception bands. The download booster and to see if it's really as fast as they say. A lot of people ignore this but phones are still phones for calling and speeds. The touch scanner sounds cool for pictures and files I like that feature too. Same as the battery and light mode. But the viewing angles is an impressive feature. They teased what they could do with view and sight, light, last year with the S4. This to me feels like a more matured less gimmicky way to do it.

And that water resistant and dust proof. My alcatel got kinda messed up when I called someone a few weeks ago while it was raining. I didn't really think about it I just needed to make a call. I know several people with iPhones too who have dust problems making the charger not work or audio screwed up. I know dust resistance and waterproof cases but I'm glad samsung is trying to make it a standard now.

I am unsure about the back, but if it feels like the Nexus 7 (2013) I'm in, it's almost sweat proof when I play games the moisture from my hands never really makes it slip or slide. More devices need that.

The biggest concern is touch wiz. The S4 had an ass load of features and touch wiz lagged it to death and also 2GB of memory. The Note 3 has shown how the extra ram helps with Touchwiz but they've redone it so it's unknown right now. Not only that but with kit kat will that make it run smoother. I know people say kit kat is better for lower end devices but, it might help samsung too. Not being a lower ended device just busier with everything going on in the phone.

I think excitement is growing and I'm considering this phone if it lives up to the hype and everything said in the keynote. Still waiting to hear more details but I'm more excited about this then the GS4. But in the corner of my mind I'm also thinking of how KICK ASS! the note 4 will be. I think samsung will reserve the faux leather for the note series which is fine. But Note 4 with 3 GB of Ram, Snapdragon 805 (or up), more awesome camera, water resistant, dust resistant,.

We all know this is just the opening act for the main attraction which will be the Note 4. Why no mention of multi window or multi tasking too? I believe that to be a very powerful feature only samsung and LG can do. I wish they weren't trying to go "Glam" either, but if it's soft touch it will do.

I'm kind of more hyped about the Gear 2. It looks freaking awesome and dust resistance/water, and better battery life makes it better. The look isn't bad either, although the design of the Galaxy Gear was perfect..just overpriced. But I'd still like a watch with google now too. Looking forward to this new phone. The only other one I'm excited about is Moto X2 (I hope), Nexus 6, and Z2. Besides the Note 4.

Agreed..
Same Ugly Design from 2012.. why folks would waste $650.00 on this Telephone is beyond me..
"SamsungSheep" are NO DIFFERENT than "iSheep" .. They too cannot wait to give away $650.00 for the same old thing.

I thought it looked quite good when the back was on the Nexus 7 and think it looks just as good here. The gold color I could do without though. I guess it isn't cool to like Samsung phones these days. Damn hipsters.

Well at least you can uninstall all those useless apps right? Right.....? The next Big thing is already out!! (Nexus 5).

Now I understand why it took for Verizon so long to announce the S5 they had to add their stupid huge logo...

I'll probably pick up the g2 on March 31st... hopefully this will launch on Verizon on April 11 so I'm still within the return window if I like this phone better. However if it's much bigger than my DNA I'll probably pass

I guess when u start getting as successful or even more then apple u start acting and becoming more like them.

Sony Xperia Z2

Contest on Tmobile and ATT websites are valuing the S5 at 625 and 650 full retail value.
