Jared DiPane News Wednesday, 03 March 2010

When you think of Android, you think Google -- powered by Google, Google Search Bar, Google Apps, Google Sync, etc.

But we also all know how AT&T likes to have exclusives, and, shall we say, "tweak" its devices. And they're at it again with the Motorola Backflip, which has given Yahoo search default function of this device. The search bar, home page and more are Yahoo instead of Google.

AT&T firmly believes Yahoo is the...

Motorola Milestone Launching January 26 On Telus ?

Casey Chan News Wednesday, 13 January 2010

We've already known that the Motorola Milestone (the GSM version of the Droid) would be available to our neighbors to the north on Telus for quite some time. However, we only knew it was coming in 'early 2010' but now there are some reports floating around pegging the official date as January 26th. Considering that the Nexus One is on everybody's mind (but not...

Will AT&T Launch the HTC Hero in 2010 ?

Casey Chan News Wednesday, 21 October 2009

The HTC Hero came to the US with a brand new hardware design and a CDMA carrier. Many were disappointed in the design change considering how daring and cutting edge the European GSM HTC Hero was. But could there be a chance that we'll see the original version of the Hero in the US?

Is the HTC Lancaster for AT&T Canceled ?

Casey Chan News Thursday, 20 August 2009

Sigh. Engadget Mobile is saying that they've heard some "pretty believable" information indicating that the HTC Lancaster, originally expected to be AT&T's first Android Phone, has been canceled. As in it'll no longer be released. Shelved. Dead....

Motorola Sholes Will Run Eclair, GSM Version To Be Offered ?

Casey Chan News Wednesday, 12 August 2009

The Motorola Sholes is a hot topic here at Android Central HQ partly because of our excitement for a Moto Android device and mostly because of the disappointment that is the Sholes' teenage sister, the Morrison. We've been excited since we first saw the Sholes hardware and got even more excited after

HTC Fiesta is an Android Phone Headed for AT&T?

Casey Chan News Monday, 10 August 2009

There's not much to see here but some some internal information on the HTC Fiesta, a device reported to run Android, have leaked. The specs for this HTC 'Fiesta' are hardly worthy of a party:

QVGA 240x320 displayNumeric keyboard (presumably no physical QWERTY)

We don't expect as big a push for the HTC Fiesta as opposed to the HTC Hero or HTC Magic, those devices were obviously the higher end while the Fiesta seems to be...

HTC Hero Passes FCC, Headed for AT&T or Rogers?

Casey Chan News Friday, 03 July 2009

We love the FCC around these parts, they always manage to leak a nugget or two when devices pass through their hands and if we're really lucky, a horribly composed picture. So though we don't have any photos of the HTC Hero that went through the FCC we do have an interesting nugget to...

Holy cow. Android is finally coming to AT&T. Score one for Android, score two for AT&T, and score three for AT&T's customers. They'll finally get to take Android out for a spin (in a very nice looking package, no less)! Engadget got their hands on an AT&T slide that shows the HTC Lancaster, AT&T's first Android device, in...
