What happens when you take some of the hottest flash based games off the web and jam them into a storefront like experience? You end up with the newly released Kongregate Arcade app for Android. Available now in the Android Market, Kongregate Arcade looks to be a "one stop shop" for your gaming needs. As noted in their press release:

"In creating the Kongregate Arcade, we wanted to solve the game discovery problem that all Android owners have shared," said Jim Greer, CEO of Kongregate. "It was important to reinforce our mission to provide gamers with great free games anytime, anywhere, and to broaden the reach of the Kongregate community across multiple platforms. The arrival of Kongregate Arcade is the perfect next step in that strategy."

Over 300 games are already loaded into Kongregate Arcade with more on the way each week. Kongregate Arcade is something to check out for sure if gaming is your thing. Keep in mind though, you will need to be running Android 2.2 or higher and you will need to have Flash 10.1 installed as well as have an internet connection available. Full press release and download is after the break for you all. Thanks I_Am_Incredible. [JoyStiq]

"Flash 10.1 installed as well as have an internet connection available"

I read over at Joystiq that "some" games will work in offline mode(not needing to be connected) but who knows which ones...

I'll just hop on my EVO and check them out!

And thanks for the acknowledgement chris

Barry Lost His Marbles = Good Times!

Not seeing anything. The QR code doesn't bring anything up, nor does a search.

Argh. Not showing up in market on my rooted, cognitionified, i9000 kernelized captivate. Wanted to ditch the whole thing for Cezars over the weekend but got too busy. Stupid AT&T and their lame market lock down. Grrrrr!

jd_ballistic says:

Pretty good stuff...definitely makes me glad I rooted/flashed my Epic.

mikesmith says:

ShaqFu says:

It's not on the market right now. I was able to download, install, and run fine via the download link on its site:

http://www.kongregate.com/pages/android

You might need to allow installing non-Market APKs. Runs fine for me on my unrooted Evo. No guarantees that games will run at full speed, though, unless you're sporting a Tegra (lucky bastard) - Filler ran at about 80% speed compared to my laptop.

Jonouchy says:

Thanks for the link been in and out of the market all day :)

Thanks for the link! I couldn't find it in the Market or on Appbrain. I just ran the apk and now my Incredible is running it perfectly! I wonder if my gf can get on her Fascinate, probably not since she is stuck on 2.1
