Huawei launched its Honor sub-brand last year, aiming to offer unlocked devices through an online-only business model to reduce overhead costs. The Chinese manufacturer has announced today that the Honor brand accounted for 20 million shipments during the first six months of 2015, netting $2.63 billion in revenue.
Phones like the Honor 6 Plus and Honor 4X were attributed for the hike in sales, with the former recording 3 million sales worldwide since its launch last year. The manufacturer has mentioned that it will continue to focus on the European market, where the Honor 7 is slated to launch later this month. Honor is now aiming to hit 40 million shipments by the end of 2015.
The increase in Honor's sales figures has had a direct effect on Huawei's bottomline for 2015, with the manufacturer witnessing 48.2 million smartphone shipments and a revenue hike of 69 percent from the same period a year ago.
