Should you happen to own the Honor 3C smartphone, you'll be able to sign-up for a trial of Android 4.4.2. This next update for the Android-powered device will include Huawei's Honor Android skin EMUI 3.0.
As well as EMUI 3.0, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) will also be bundled, making it easier to remain connected to smart wearables without draining the smartphone battery at startling speeds.
All you need to do is sign-up to the Honor Club and email Honor with your IMEI number, as well as a reason as to why you want to be among the first adopters of this software release. If selected, you'll receive the update OTA by April 27.
While it's not 5.0 Lollipop, it's good to see Honor continue to support customers with new software releases, even though the device is from 2013 – better late than never. See the press release below for more details.
As of today, users of the Honor 3C smartphone can sign up for a trial of the Android 4.4.2 software taking advantage of Honor's ongoing commitment to its users. Key improvements of the software include the update to Honor's customer Android skin EMUI 3.0, offering a more dynamic display design, and the BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy), designed to connect smartwatches and smartbands to the device using considerably reduced power than standard Bluetooth.
To enter the trial Honor 3C users need to sign up to the Honor Club and e-mail Honor with the subject line 'FUT' giving their IMEI number and a reason why they want to be the first adopters of the new software. They will be then selected by Honor to receive the trial software as on over-the-air update by April 27, 2015. Following the test process and based on the feedback from initial users from Germany, France and The Netherlands, Honor will release the software update to all Honor 3C users and additionally will update the SD (memory) card in June.
