Dropbox is updating its Android app bringing two big new features; a PDF viewer as well as in-document search.

Dropbox for Android

With the new Dropbox for Android users will be able to view PDF's within Dropbox while offline whether they are local files or not. The addition of the in-document search will make it much quicker to search for specific text within a PDF as it will highlight the phrases in the document and allow you to go right to that section.

  • View PDFs right from your Android device, regardless of whether you started in Dropbox or a different application, and even if you're offline.
  • Share PDFs directly from the preview by tapping the 'Share' button to automatically generate a shared link.
  • Access shared PDFs that are automatically added to a 'Sent files' folder in your Dropbox, so you don't have to worry about downloading and keeping track of them.
  • Search Word docs, PDFs and PowerPoint files in Dropbox, so you can quickly jump right to the info that you need.

The update will be rolling out across the Play Store in the next couple of days, so be sure to keep an eye out for it.
