HTC M4Mini HTC One reportedly due 'by August'

The evidence that HTC is working on an HTC One "mini" is growing, with fresh reports from Bloomberg seemingly confirming the rumored specs, and offering a tentative launch window. The publication says it's heard through two insider sources that the miniature HTC One will come with a 4.3-inch screen of lower resolution than the original. In addition, a "less powerful" Qualcomm CPU is said to be onboard.

As for release dates, Bloomberg says the new handset will go on sale "by August," meaning we could have a few weeks to wait before the device becomes official.

Earlier rumors have pointed to the "M4," as it's codenamed, shipping with an "Ultrapixel" camera, like the HTC One, and a screen resolution of 1280x720. Leaked photos have revealed a design almost identical to the 4.7-inch One. If the rumors are accurate, it'd compare favorably against the Galaxy S4 Mini, due to go on sale in July.

If this sucker comes out on any network before Verizon gets the original HTC One I am going to throw up.

While this appeals to me, I'm sure T-Mobile will not carry it. I hope there is at least an unlocked version available from HTC directly. It would be a great choice for prepaid.

HTC!!! release it already. the more you delay the more you lose share to Samsung's bloated phones.

This is stupid. Why do all these companies dump money into these sub par phones? Just market old phones that have the same specs as starter devices and be done with it. That's one thing I think apple does right

I completely agree. This is one reason the Android market has so much trouble getting some of the very good apps available on ios.

I really dont care about the slightly less powerful cpu.

Give me a 4.3" device with an HD screen and ultra pixel camera!!
I can't even begint o tell you how sick of giant screen phones I am.

But I'm on Verizon, so I have no chance at this.

I wonder if it will still have the aluminum body?
