Although the Motorola Xoom has been getting some Android 3.1 love as of late, one thing that is still missing is the long sought after SDCard support. Today though, Motorola Canada gave us some insight as to when we may see it -- although, we've heard "coming soon" plenty of times now and what was posted, only leads to more questions.

The Motorola XOOM upgrade for Canada is coming soon! Some of the feature upgrades include basic external SD card support for general SD file and media access, expanded support for USB-connected accessories, additional Bluetooth support and Picture Transfer Protocol to enable easier transfer of photo files to your PC.

Cool! Coming soon for Canadians -- but, what about the rest of the Motorola Xoom owners out there? Granted, we weren't expecting Motorola Canada to say much about any other releases but it sure would be nice to hear something.

Although we've caught a glimpse of the upcoming OGT Tablet -- now named Eros -- the mystery and specs surrounding this device were certainly enough to make us want another look at it. No, we don't have a full and complete hands-on with it for you all as of yet but -- OGT has posted up their teaser video just to double check our interest.

If you missed it the first time around, "the world's thinnest Android tablet" packs a 1GHz processor, microSD card slot along with front and rear facing cameras and a 188 ppi (pixels per inch) display. Needless to say -- we're still interested OGT but we'll need one soon to stay that way, the market is growing.

Google Transit does Washington, D.C.

If you live in Washington, D.C. and make use of the transit system, your trip planning has just got a little easier. Google has updated Google Transit with all of D.C. Metro bus stations, stops and routes, as well as listings for connections to surrounding cities such as Baltimore, Montgomery and Jefferson counties. Go ahead and fire up Google Maps -- from within there you can search for and map out the transit system and get to where you really need go. With any luck, you may even find a faster route then what you're already familiar with.

Just in case you've not noticed recently, display manufacturers have been working their butts off to mass produce high-quality display units for all of us technology hungry individuals. Samsung is no exception to that that, in fact Samsung is one of the leaders in display technologies and they're getting ready to show off the industry’s first 10.1-inch WQXGA (2560 x 1600) format PenTile RGBW tablet display.

“Samsung’s PenTile display technology is the only display technology that operates at 40 percent less power yet provides twice that of Full HD-viewing performance for consumers compared to legacy RGB stripe LCDs. There is no other commercial display technology on the market today that offers this high of a resolution and pixel density in a 10.1-inch size display,” said Dr. Sungtae Shin, Senior VP of Samsung Electronics.

So what does all this mean to consumers? Basically -- we're going to be getting some seriously high quality displays in some of the upcoming tablets. Luckily for us, those displays will be lighter and 40 percent more power-efficient. Which, is a great thing -- that stuff leads to lighter, visually better and longer lasting tablets. Hit the break for the full press release and background info about  Samsung’s PenTile display technology.

When the Android 3.1 update was announced for the 3G enabled Motorola Xoom, some WiFi only Xoom owners were a little upset at having to wait, even if only a little bit. However, some actually received the update that day despite Motorola stating it would be happening in the coming weeks. And now, Motorola has announced that the Android 3.1 update is slowly being rolled out in phases. If you already received it -- awesome (and snag the manual download location)! If not, sit tight and take satisfaction in knowing it's coming sooner rather than later.

White Samsung Nexus S

By now, the white Samsung Nexus S with AT&T 3G compatibility (that'd be the 850MHz and 1900MHz bands) hitting the U.S. is starting to sound like some other unnamed white device that seemingly took forever to get here. Phil is starting to grow impatient and maybe Samsung has sensed this as they now appear to be putting the final touches on a . We've seen this device time and time again -- be it through online stores, sitting in Bluetooth SIG documents and even on the Samsung website itself previously but it remains not yet available from AT&T or any other direct or in-direct retailer. Anyone still holding out for the white Nexus S besides Phil? Or has its time long past now?
