Vodafone's affordable Smart Ultra 6 is now available in silver

Vodafone has announced that the UK mobile operator is now selling the silver variant of its Smart Ultra 6 smartphone. The company unveiled the latest offering in the Smart series last month, priced at just £125 for a HD display and LTE connectivity.

Specifications of the Smart Ultra 6 include an octa-core Snapdragon 615 CPU, 16GB internal memory, 13MP camera at the back, 5MP front shooter, 3,000mAh battery and Android 5.0 Lollipop. Vodafone's £17 monthly plan offers 500 minutes, unlimited texts and 500MB data, and for those looking for more data, the carrier has the £30 and £40 Big Value Bundles that offer unlimited text and calls as well as 4GB and 6GB 4G data.

Customers opting for either Big Value Bundle will receive Spotify Premium, Sky Sports Mobile TV or a NOW TV Entertainment Pass for free.

  • For £40 approx with similar data you could get a premium phone. At £17 with 3gb+ of data, that would be attractive, and capture new customers. With only 500mb it renders it useless. Buy data add ons and you are probably in to iPhone 6+ territory cost wise.
No thanks again Vodafone. Posted via the Android Central App
  • The Vodafone Smart 6 Ultra is actually a decent phone. But not for £40 a month. The specs are pretty decent too. Posted via the Android Central App
  • That seems true, it's good enough for me. I wonder who the maker is, but I personally haven't been on Vodafone for years and I don't know software they add in. It will sell, sure, more at the £17 mark, unless they have a high pressure sales pitch, then people will ask for more data. Posted via the Android Central App
  • I do wonder what the clock speed of each core in the snapdragon 615 is as it is octa cores. Posted via the Android Central App
  • It's 1.5GHz on the whole but I think 4 A53 cores run at 1.5GHz and 4 A53 cores run at 1.0GHz Posted via the Android Central App
