T-Mobile offers visitors to the U.S. a new $30 calling and data plan

T-Mobile will launch its new Tourist Plan on June 12 for people who are visiting the United States. It will give them unlimited data and 1,000 minutes of calls inside the U.S for three weeks for $30.

The T-Mobile Tourist Plan (opens in new tab) also includes 2GB of high-speed data, along with unlimited texting to over 140 countries. The plan also gives tourists in the U.S. a free SIM card. However, the plan does not offer international talk minutes.

People who are visiting the U.S. and have an unlocked, GSM-compatible phone can go to any T-Mobile location and ask for the Tourist Plan. However, after three weeks the plan expires and does not automatically renew.

  • Exactly.. where is "here?" I was being sarcastic. The main point is I'm glad some carriers are doing something for outsiders. One to start, others might offer the same or better. Posted via the Android Central App
  • I prefer to use the carriers that worry more about its own customers rather than people from other countries. Tmobile sounds a lot like the US government. Posted via the Android Central App
  • then choose a different carrier... duh.
  • ...and just when we thought you couldn't top your stupidity.

  • Ya T-Mobile is beast in most metros. Problem lies outside them. I can't speak for NOW but it wasn't long ago that T was only offering 2G here when everyone else was fast 3G and starting to deploy 4G.
  • I was in rural Idaho on vacation last month and was surprised to have 4G LTE service. This is not your father's T-Mobile.
  • Is there binge-on and unlimited music included? Sounds like a very interesting offer for my upcoming trip to the US... Posted via the Android Central App

  • Agreed.
  • Well stated.
  • 2 gb of high speed data.. What about the speed of the unlimited data when the 2gb is gone?
  • From the FAQ: Does my data stop after I use my 2GB of 4G LTE data? No, your data does not stop, but you will experience slower data at up to 2G speed Posted via the Android Central App
  • Why not cap off of low tier 3G? 384kbs you can't do jack **** with 128kbps. Posted via the Android Central App
  • This is also a good way to determine if T-Mobile works for you. Posted via the Android Central App
  • My thoughts exactly. Posted via the Android Central App
  • I wonder if T-Mobile asks for a passport or visa as proof of eligibility for this plan ?
  • Probably not.
  • Tourist Plan? Should be called the "What happens in Vegas.." Plan.
