What you need to know

  • Samsung's new Galaxy S26 teasers hint at major camera upgrades across zoom, low-light, and video performance.
  • The teasers suggest improved zoom clarity may finally extend to video, not just photos, marking a meaningful upgrade.
  • Low-light video recording appears to be a big focus, with Samsung teasing better lighting control in concerts and night scenes.

Samsung has just released a bunch of new teasers for the upcoming Galaxy S26 series, and they've already got me hyped.

The Galaxy S26 series is only a few weeks away, and Samsung has started ramping up excitement for its next flagship lineup. We recently saw the brand tease a new privacy display feature designed to keep nearby onlookers away, and now the company has begun teasing camera upgrades as well.

Samsung has released three new teasers for the Galaxy S26 series, with each video highlighting a different upgrade. In the first teaser, a user zooms in on a dog sitting inside a car, and the phone is able to capture the shot clearly from a distance. This suggests that after bringing improved zoom clarity to photos, the Galaxy S26 series could also extend it to video.

In another teaser, a user is shown recording a DJ performing in an unevenly lit concert environment, while the phone captures details clearly and handles lighting well. The clip is paired with the caption 'Light up your night,' pointing to improved low-light camera and video recording performance.

Similarly, a third teaser shows a woman dancing with fireworks in her hand, with the AI phone capturing details clearly without overly brightening the scene.

All the teasers end with Samsung circling the word 'smart' in smartphone (hinting at the S Pen) before shifting to 'AI phone' and taking a clear jab at rivals (read Apple) with the line 'Can your phone do that?'

The Galaxy S26 series is tipped to launch on February 25 at an event in San Francisco. The new flagship lineup is expected to bring camera upgrades, including a wider f/1.4 200MP lens on the Galaxy S26 Ultra and an improved 3x telephoto lens. Thankfully, we don't have to wait much longer, as the series appears to be just weeks away.

Android Central's Take

From what I've seen in the teasers, we're likely in for a major camera upgrade, especially on the Galaxy S26 Ultra. While the camera may sound familiar on paper at 200 MP, the wider f/1.4 lens should allow in much more light and deliver better low-light performance. These teasers have me excited, but it remains to be seen whether Samsung finally delivers on its promise.
