Forget the OnePlus 8, the OnePlus 6T is on sale at $300 for a limited time

OnePlus strives to offer flagship-level devices at more affordable prices than manufacturers like Samsung or Apple, and the OnePlus 6T (opens in new tab) is an excellent example. This powerful smartphone normally sits just under $550 in price while retaining many of the same features you'd find in a device that regularly sells for upwards of $1,000 instead. Now, thanks to a limited-time sale at B&H, you can pick up a 128GB OnePlus 6T (opens in new tab) from just $299.99. That's around $250 off its retail price and less than a refurb model (opens in new tab) goes these days, though you only have until tomorrow (or until sold out) to take advantage of this deal.

While there may be a few compromises between the OnePlus 6T and a more expensive device such as the Samsung Galaxy S20 series, you'll be paying a fraction of the cost to miss out on features such as wireless charging or water resistance. The OnePlus 6T runs one of the best forms of Android, so even though it might not have every feature a new Google Pixel or Samsung Galaxy has, you'll arguably have a better user experience with one of these devices anyway. It comes running Android Pie, though it is upgradeable to Android 10. All-in-all, the OnePlus 6T is still an excellent option for those seeking the best value.
This is the T-Mobile variant of the handset, though it will work with most major CDMA and GSM carriers. The only major carrier it won't support is Sprint. The only color on offer is Mirror Black, though unlike previous sales it is offered brand new.

If you need cheap phone that still a flagship and don't have a lot of money pick this up. I've had this phone since launch day and it's the best phone I've ever owned. A year and a half later it hasn't slowed down one bit and I never had to factory reset, updates are very good. It's slated to get Android 11 too. You could also wait for the OnePlus Z though that will be between $400 and $500 but you'll get 5G and longer software support. Honestly though 5G isn't that important yet. That's why I'm hanging on to this phone for awhile longer. I'd get one for my mom who needs a new phone but I think it's too big so I'm getting her a Pixel 4a when it eventually comes out.

How good is OnePlus in regards to monthly security updates and annual OS upgrades? I've been wondering this for some time, since the media covers how fantastic their phones are, but no mention of these "details" for us Pixel owners or Samsung owners considering changing phones.
