We know how excited everybody is. In a mere 36 hours, the Evo 4G will be upon us. And Sprint wants to know: What will you do first with the nation's first 4G phone? (And we'd add the first with a front-facing camera.) Well, folks? What are you gonna do?

Is that the new commercial??...I think it was very cool !

Kedar says:

Yeah it does look pretty cool. It makes a big claim, but doesn't say much about the phone.

Also, Sprint has good ads. It advertised the Palm Pre 100x better than Palm did.

Anyway, when I get my Evo... I'm going to first do speech to text ... I'll message some people using it, lol. That alone seems cool.

I love how many features Android has...
I'm going to customize my homescreens and get some cool apps like RingDroid.

Ecoteric says:

Yeah, the speech to text messaging is totally awesome on it's own!

BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY RALEIGH, NC'S NEW DOWNTOWN AMPHITHEATER OPENS JUNE 4TH!! I AM GOING TO TAKE SHOOT SOME AWESOME 720P VIDEO OF THE BANDS AND CONCERT!

Ecoteric says:

DAMN AWESOME COMMERCIAL!

cmacelis says:

hmmm.........good question.....I guess I would start to download a whole bunch of stuff from the market. New to android so got some catchin up to do

Bio#AC says:

Charge it? Sprint dumb.

MarqBland says:

I plan on going directly to an AT&T store and setting up my tent. As soon as June 7th rolls around, I'll turn on Pandora and anything else I can to burn up data then dare people with their new "multitasking" iPhones to do the same without worrying about data overages. Hahaha!

Just kidding! However, I would love to do that. I'll probably immediately plug it up and start installing all of my Appbrain apps.

sevans76 says:

haha. You are so right. AT&T and Apple messed people up with those data plans. The can say to their customers the juice is still running, lol

jbuggydroid says:

Do it man... you know you wanna :-)

McPlot says:

OMG, I am so going to an AT&T and Apple store just to walk around using the Evo. I will let you know how long it was for me to get kicked out.

Beezzy says:

I will prolly log into my facebook and twitter accounts and get the friends stream going, asjust whatever Sense settings, download apps from the market and then root that shit if possible!

GMSchiller says:

I'm going to download a quadrillion apps and start playing with them to see which ones I like.

I'm also going to enjoy my NO DATA LIMIT!!!!

golfpt says:

Okay, that commercial is simply cool!!! Droid shmoid!

sevans76 says:

I am gonna download all my live wallpapers and apps I have been gathering, text on that big a$$ screen and surf web, and bookmark Android Central for sure. :-)

makya53 says:

Put it on BIG RED so I can make and receive calls. Damn you sprint.

h20squirter says:

I am going to go back to the fire station and show it off to all the guys. The ones that have Hero's will be jealous, the ones with Iphones won't have a clue what they are looking at, it will be righteous and kick ass.

slacker76 says:

If only I could root it and flash some Froyo goodness!!!!

Blah says:

MUCH better than the space alien chick commercial Sprint chose for the Pre as their last big phone.

MarqBland says:

That was Palm that chose that woman. The Sprint Pre commercials were better

GMSchiller says:

I think I'm actually going to walk out of RS and drive straight to BB to have the Zagg shield installed on both of my EVOs (maybe even buy a privacy screen) and probably pick up a mini hdmi to regular hdmi adapter.

From there I'm certain that I'm going to have to go home and deliver the wife's phone to her before I can do anything else with mine...

PaperMate3rd says:

New to Android (officially ran it on my TP2) but I'll downloadong Apps for sure. then its to yhe studio where I record to make everyone put theyre IPhones in they're pockets. Then run some flash enabled sites whip out the kickstand and set it down on the table next to my homies ipad. SHAPOW!

dannydos says:

im going to prop the kickstand and just stare at it for a while lol.

turtle3#AC says:

That commercial is stellar. Classy and thought provoking. Well done.

My wife and I will pick up our Evos on Friday. Today we have been updating and cleaning out our Google address books so we can actually use the phones to make calls and send messages when we get them.

We both took Friday off and after we pick up our Evos at Best Buy at 10AM we will sit down and setup email, Facebook, Twitter and other social networking plus configure our wifi. Next I will setup auto downloads for the Android Central and other podcasts. Then we intend to check the App Store and play with our Evos all through the weekend until we figure out how to use them to the max!

Sometime over the weekend I guess we will also have to plug the phones in.

Hope everyone enjoys their new Evos.

robotphood says:

That sounds like an amazing weekend ha. Hopefully we don't have to plug our phones in too often or soon...

jbuggydroid says:

Oh man when I am able to get one.... I don't know!!!! There is just so much to do!!!!!! My fiance may get one to so I'll definitely be helping her since she'll be new to android. But I think I will watch a movie on it. Or maybe..... :-)

gbhil#AC says:

take it apart. :)

TSchauer83 says:

I'm going to charge it up so I can play with it for a while before I can put it on a charger for a longer time.

Wynder says:

SACRILEGE!

But awesome idea, hahahaha.

Ecoteric says:

LET'S BLEND IT!

Have breakfast with it because it will be far too early for my liking.

First I'm going to set it next to my pre and wonder how I ever managed to use such a small screen. Then I am going to download an Ebook and read it without the use of a microscope.

smotrs says:

I'm gonna call all my friends and ask, "Can you see me now?" :)

uberspeed says:

would've been funny to have an iphone somewhere in the line getting knocked down leading up to the Evo ;)

crxssi says:

>What will you do first with the nation's first 4G phone?

1) Try to figure out how to get repeating audible notification reminders.
2) Try to get similar functionality I have worked on for a year on the Pre.
3) Immediately install a WiFi tracer/analyzer, something I have been waiting for on WebOS for a looong time that never came.
4) Play with voice recognition and dialing.. another thing I have been waiting for.
5) Move my media over (pictures, video)
6) Root it, cause I know I will need to (rare tethering, UI tweaks, etc).
7) Start saving up money to pay for the nasty $10/mo 4G penalty in an area were I won't have 4G for a long time :(

I missed the first preorder, so mine won't be in my hands until the 9th.

Ecoteric says:

yep, better save $.50 a day to pay that $10/mo... good thing you aren't with ATT and VZ or who knows how many 50cent pieces a day you would have to save a day to get the same services!

cluckkillerb says:

More like $.33 a day...lol. Better put in an extra 15 mins of OT each month! :P

isseyphresh says:

i missed the first preorder and I too am scheduled for the 9th...but i'll be up at the crack of dawn tomorrow lurking...if I can get one at the shack then I'm just gonna use the 50 bucks @ BB for a larger microSD and HDMI out cable :D

Probably will just stare in wonder, swiping back and forth around the non-lagging Sense UI with a dumb smile on my face. Good bye, Palm...it was fun! Android, here I come!

Droid King says:

Maaaan Idk, Never Had aDroid Phone,
Evo Will Be My First, HaHa, Evo Takin My V-Card..
Wat Is The Best Thing About Android??

garciaop says:

am gonna go on a small trip with my palm pre and tell it to go buy some stuff while i wait in my car then ill step down on the accelerator and go get me evo and come home have some wine or something then make love to it

rufflez says:

Root it... duh!

cj100570 says:

I see they've chosen to go the Palm Pre route again with commercials that don't really tout the phone. Good luck with that subtle advertising Sprint.

riste601 says:

I'm probably going to miss a whole day of work playing with my evo!

Jesse Potter says:

Rejoin civilization, as I haven't had a cellphone since canceling my VZW contract 2 weeks ago.

ostrange says:

HAHA Yes charge it,play with it for awhile, customize to my liking and download some cool apps

kona2day says:

After picking up my evo from the Sprint store at 8 am, I will walk over to BB and show it off to all those waiting to pick up theirs at BB. After that charge it, download a whole bunch of apps and then fly up to one of the cities that has 4G and try that out (working for an airline has its advantages). Fly back home and play with it some more.

sophi_psych says:

*Sigh, I picked a bad time to switch from Sprint to Verizon so I could get a Droid. Oh well. Guess I'll have to live vicariously through you guys for a while.

walterwood44 says:

I left out one thing from my earlier post

RTFM

Wynder says:

What will I do first?

Charge it. :)

moosc says:

as with all sprint commercials its a snooze fest...

losmercedes says:

I can't wait to give my PALM PRE a punt, can't to take some pics and video of the kids playing, without it freezin on my like PRE did. Show it off to my coworkers that want it and don't have, lol. And download a lot of apps.

losmercedes says:

hopefully just enjoy a lagg free phone. That likes to freeze when you are trying to show it off like my PALM PRE. Bye bye palm and hello htc evo !!!!!

Well, since I'm new to Android i'll download a list of apps that I made. Then I'll take some pictures and surf the web

Paladin says:

First thing? I am gong to... wait for it.....TURN IT ON!!!! :)

Seriously the first thing is find the market app and download the one for AppBrain and start downloading all the stuff I have queued up. Then it is just a matter of playing with it and the new apps learning as much as I can!

Makes me almost not want one since the 1st's were always clunky... I mean would you rather have that Saturn 5 rocket or a space shuttle... the phonograph or an iPod? The brick phone or an Evo?

Neat ad, wrong message... best idea I've seen lately was for the Olympus PEN camera series... "It's so good, we shot this commerical with it!"

boonxeven says:

First thing I'm going to do, is put a screen protector on it. Then I'm going to install a bunch of apps, and check out the 4G coverage in my area.

losmercedes says:

the first thing ima do when i get my new HTC EVO, is kick my PALM PRE for a field goal on YOUTUBE.com, get it back and kick some more field goals. lmao !!!!!!!!!

McPlot says:

Plug it in with the car charger I am getting with it!

evomyhero says:

I will CRY!!! Seriously, I've been waiting for this moment for so long. It's my first smartphone. I held off on Verizon thru their upgrade offerings of the touchscreen BB, the Droid, then the Incredible, even almost jumped to the iPhone earlier this year... but my patience persisted. And tomorrow at 7:30 a.m., in the parking Lot of a San Antonio Radio Shack, this grown man will CRY!

evomyhero says:

and then read every page in the manual including all of the legal stuff and the safety warnings... especially the safety warnings.
