Shop Android

One of the more popular apps for Android (and a personal favorite), Shop Savvy, just got a pretty nice update. If you're unfamiliar with Shop Savvy, it's a barcode scanning application that'll find you the best deals on any scannable product online or in-store. We love it because it uses features that are unique to Android and the G1 and plus, it's a great conversation starter.

Now ShopSavvy gets even better. Not only can it find your item, it can actually detail inventory at said locations. So you'll always know if the deal you find through ShopSavvy is actually available. Pretty sweet if you ask us.

Anyone out there a big ShopSavvy fan?

Shop Savvy is awesome. It saved me $250 with one scan - we were shopping for ki
tchen cabinet knobs @ Lowes, and the ones my wife liked were $3.50 each. I used Shop Savvy to scan the knob barcode and found the same one on Amazon for $1.10 - plus free ship and no tax! Now my wife wants a G1 just for Shop Savvy.

I just purchased a G1 about two weeks ago and cannot find ShopSavvy in the Android Market. Any ideas?

I've looked under shopping and done several searches. No results.

Thanks!

I used Shopsavvy to scan some page protectors while I was my local walmart. Walmarts price was $3.67 for 50 page protectors. Shop savvy come up with Amazon for $4.87 +/- a few cents. I was looking for a way to inform shop savvy of the price I had from walmart but there is no way to upload/update a lower or additional price option/source.

Sort of hoping I could get a little good buyer experience, sort of like the kind I get from Slickdeals when looking for a lowest price, users post their price for item, and from which retailer.

Disappointed also that I received only one source for the page protectors, cause it did not shop my local office max, staples, or other national retailer prices for the same upc code. I do have my gps feature, can it not see where I am at and look for local retailers?

Have used it a few times, so far only walgreens and amazon are the single and only choices of retailers. Ok, walgreens is a local retailer, but so are the others above too.

If this keeps up, it's really not of any value for me to leave it as one of my installed apps.
