Qualcomm has made the Snapdragon 820, its latest generation mobile CPU, official at an event in New York City. The company previously confirmed some of the specs of the upcoming CPU, but not everything was known until now.
The Snapdragon 820 comes equipped with new modems, enabling X12 LTE, with Cat 12 downlink speeds of up to 600 Mbps and support of 3x20 MHz Carrier Aggregation, and Cat 13 uplink speed of up to 150 Mbps via support for 64-QAM, or Quadrature Amplitude Modulation. The processor feautres a Qualcomm Adreno 530 GPU along with its revamped attempt at 64-bit computing through the Kryo CPU.
Additionally, the Snapdragon 820 will support Quick Charge 3.0, USB 3.0, and much more. For a full list of specifications on the new CPU, be sure to head to the link below.
