Now that S-OFF can be obtained on the Droid Incredible 2 we've started to see some custom ROMs pop up for the device and developers have been hard at work in an effort to make everyone happy by working on root solutions and now -- a leaked build of Gingerbread has appeared.

The full RUU has been leaked for all non-rooted users courtesy of Football but if you at some point want to root then you'll want to stay very far away from this considering you'll be killing off the only known root method for the Droid Incredible 2. That said, if you care none about obtaining root then you can go right ahead and proceed with the installation.

The other option here is to hold out and wait until the AlphaRevX team releases their root method for the Droid Incredible 2 at which point, you'll then be able to install a pre-rooted version of Gingerbread based off of the RUU using AlphaRevX and ClockworkMod recovery.

The choice really is up to you as a user but our personal suggestion is to just hold out and wait until the root method becomes available and then go from there. Links for both can be found after the break as well as short list of the changes that are said to be included with this RUU release.

Again folks, remember -- the RUU is not suggested for anyone who may later want to obtain root. If this is something you install, there may never be a way to revert back to a point where you can once again obtain root.

I thought was weird too. In the system settings it said Sense 2.1 but the shade looked like Sense 3.0. I'm just going to stay away and wait for root.
