What you need to know
- POCO's upcoming budget phone, rumored to be called the M2 Pro, has appeared on the website of India's BIS certification body.
- The phone could be launched in the country next month.
- It is expected to be powered by a Snapdragon 720G chipset, just like the Redmi Note 9 Pro.
Earlier this week, a report had revealed that POCO is set to launch a new smartphone in the Indian market next month. POCO's rumored M2 Pro budget phone has now been spotted on the website of India's BIS certification body, which suggests it may not be the flagship F2 Pro that will be launched in the country next month (via MySmartPrice).
The POCO M2 Pro listing on the BIS certification website lists the phone with the model number M2003J6CI. It was previously spotted in the RF exposure section of the Xiaomi India website. While the phone's specs sheet remains a mystery at this point, a report published by XDA Developers last month had suggested it could be powered by the same Snapdragon 720G chipset as the Redmi Note 9 Pro. Unlike the POCO X2, however, it doesn't look like the M2 Pro will be a rebranded Redmi Note 9 Pro.

POCO hasn't started teasing its next launch for the Indian market yet, so we will have to wait a little longer to find out if it is indeed the M2 Pro that the brand is planning to launch in the country next month. It also remains to be seen if the M2 Pro will be exclusive to the Indian market like the POCO X2.
