OnePlus has finally confirmed that its first-ever true wireless earbuds will debut alongside the OnePlus Nord on July 21. In addition to confirming the launch date, the company has also revealed that they will be called the OnePlus Buds.
Pete Lau, Founder and CEO of OnePlus, said in a statement:
With the new OnePlus Buds, we are further building out our portfolio of products that give our users a burdenless experience,. Our users are looking for the right combination of great sound quality, seamless connectivity, and easy-to-use experience. That's exactly what the OnePlus Buds will deliver.
OnePlus had launched its first Bluetooth earphones, the OnePlus Bullets Wireless, in May 2018. Unlike a few other Android OEMs, however, the company had so far stayed away from the true wireless earbuds market. The OnePlus Buds, according to the company, have been designed to "deliver high-quality audio playback and an easy-to-use experience on the go."
As per a recent listing for the true wireless earbuds on Finland's SGS Fimko certification, the OnePlus Buds charging case will support 7.5W charging speeds. The rest of the key features of the true wireless earbuds, however, still remain a mystery.
OnePlus' AR launch event is set to kick off at 10 AM ET on July 21. You will be able to stream the event live using the OnePlus Nord AR app from the Google Play Store.
