Nextbit pushes back launch of the Robin's CDMA version

Nextbit has provided an update on the CDMA version of its Robin smartphone, and those waiting for it will be in for a bit of a delay. While initially targeting a February release date, the launch of the CDMA variant of the Robin has been delayed. The company says it now believes April to be a more realistic window.

From Nextbit's update to Kickstarter backers:

The CDMA Robin wasn't in development until we saw your response on Kickstarter, and we got a little carried away in the excitement of the campaign. When we estimated we would deliver CDMA Robin in February, we were being optimistic. Now that we've gone through development and are working out the testing schedule, we think April is more realistic. We don't know exactly when in April as there are still a number of factors outside our control. We will keep you up to date, as we get more and more information.

The GSM version of the Robin is set to ship out beginning Feb. 16 to the first 1,000 backers. When it does arrive, the CDMA version of the Robin will be compatible with both Verizon and Sprint.
