Even though thousands of live events have been cancelled across the world over the past few months, Comic-Con is pulling through for its fans with a convention that's unlike any which have come before it. The event is known for bringing fans to San Diego, California from all around the globe, but for the first time since its debut in 1970, the San Diego Comic-Con entertainment convention is coming to your home instead. This year's panels have been pre-recorded and will be made available for viewing online throughout the next several days, and the best part is it's all completely free.

Comic-Con has always been an exciting event with a huge barrier to entry. Not only do you normally need to pay for transportation, a hotel, and food while you're there, but you also have to be lucky enough to snag a ticket before they're all sold out. This year, you won't have to deal with any of those concerns — except the food situation, of course.

The Comic-Con@Home event isn't just pre-recorded discussions and panels, either. Comic-Con's website has a virtual Exhibit Hall where you can explore different booths as if you were actually on the convention floor! Some booths have exclusive shops with merch you won't be able to buy elsewhere, and deals you can't find at other stores either. Be sure to check out the virtual Exhibit Hall to see for yourself.

Comic-Con@Home: When and where

This year's San Diego Comic-Con 2020 event begins on Wednesday, July 22 with panels starting at 3 p.m. PT / 6 p.m. ET. The event will last for five days through Sunday, July 26 after which point the virtual exhibit hall will close. Most panels will be available to watch after their scheduled airdate though there's no concrete information as to which.

You can get a look at the full five-day schedule on the Comic-Con@Home website and use MySched to create your own schedule for the event with only the panels you want to see.

Each panel contains a link on the Comic-Con website. Once the scheduled time has occurred, you can click the panel link to be guided to its video and watch at your leisure. All of the panels will also be available on the Comic-Con YouTube channel after their scheduled time.

How to watch Comic-Con@Home from anywhere

Comic-Con 2020 is truly unlike any other, and you don't want to miss this opportunity! All of the panels will be free to watch over the course of the five-day event and available to watch in a few different ways with the first being on the Comic-Con@Home website. You can also choose to watch on YouTube which opens a few new avenues to watch the panels you're interested in. You'll be able to stream the panels using the YouTube app on various devices including your phone, tablet, smart TV, and more.

Then again, if you can't access the show on the Comic-Con website or via YouTube due to a location restriction, you can try using a VPN service to unblock the content and gain access that way instead.
