Ascend Mate 2 getting Lollipop upgrade in the first half of next year

Huawei's Ascend Mate 2 will be receiving Android 5.0 Lollipop during the first half of 2015. It was recently announced that the device, which runs Android 4.3, would not get the upgrade to KitKat, so this is good news for Ascend Mate 2 users.

Huawei says that they have reexamined their upgrade strategy in light of user feedback. The upgrade to Lollipop will be made directly from Jelly Bean. The device itself is a 6.1-inch phone with a 1.6GHz processor, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage, upgradeable with a 32GB microSD card. It also has a 13MP camera and a massive 3900mAh battery. Customers can get it directly from Huawei for $299.
