ZTE's latest budget-priced Android smartphone, the ZTE Imperial II, will be available in the US via U.S. Cellular for the price of $140 without a contract or for free with a two-year contract. A specific launch date was not announced.
This new phone is the successor to the 2013 released ZTE Imperial, which had a 4-inch display. The Imperial II will have a larger 5-inch qHD display. ZTE says this change was made due to a survey of its customers, which stated that 83% of them wanted a larger screen but only 22% wanted to pay a higher price.
The 4G LTE Imperial II will run Android 4.4.2 KitKat. Inside there will be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of onboard storage. It will also have a 5MP rear-facing camera and a 2,300 mAh battery.
