Twitter for Android

Twitter has now unleashed their latest update to Twitter for Android though, the verdict is still out on whether or not it's for the better. Rather then just a bug fix release, this one introduces some improvements overall to the app. Search has been improved across the board so that it is now easier to find people you follow as you type, providing a better user experience for auto-completion. The discover tab has also been improved in the fact that Twitter has made particular trends and news articles easier to be found. To round it all off, Push notifications will now let you know when you've got a new follower or have been retweeted or favorited -- all of which can be enabled and disabled as do you so choose.

Does it have scrollable widgets? Until that happens the official Twitter and Facebook apps are dead to me.

Notification settings are under SETTINGS - @YOURtwitterNAME - NOTIFICATIONS ,
And if you have push notification problem : just go to the desktop twitter website and click on your account - on top far right you have EDIT YOUR PROFILE - and then on the left side you have a list of options - click on APPS - and searh for TWITTER FOR ANDROID and REVOKE ACCESS , no log in to twitter from your phone and configurate your settings again ..

Thanks. That is less than intuitive. It should have a message underneath your name that says something to the effect of (Touch for profile specific options)

Whatever. I'm stuck with Tweet Caster pro... and next in line BOID (CUrrently in Alpha) but better than half the apps out there

Does any Twitter app on Android allow a user to open the thread of a tweet to see replies to tweets that you want to look at, just like you can do on the Twitter website?

ba_hamilton says:

If I understand what you are asking, Alphascope does that. You can press on a tweet and you can see comments that were made for that tweet. Only thing is that it doesn't flag you in any way that a comment has been made.

patrixl says:

Yeah, Twitter (official) shows you replies to a tweet, even which tweet a reply was sent to. Plume can "show entire conversation" too..

IceDree says:

Plume can , It shows you the entire conversation
I think TweetCaster can too , but haven't used it a while now

Can a tweetdeck update come sometime soon? I know Twitter bought it and it's by far better than their own, so you would think they would focus some time on it. The only problem I have with it is the force closing that happens every so often. Other than that, by far the best app. I love the widget.
