Xiaomi has unveiled a new product in its Mi TV lineup, the Mi TV 2S. The TV features the latest version of MIUI — based on Android 5.0 — and comes with a 48-inch 4K display in an aluminium frame that's only 9.9mm thick.
Powering the TV is an MStar 6A928 SoC with four Cortex A17 CPU cores clocked at 1.4GHz and a Mali T760MP4 GPU. The 10-bit panel can decode 4K at 60Hz, features HDMI 2.0a ports as well as USB 3.0, Wi-Fi ac and Bluetooth 4.0. In terms of memory, the Mi TV 2S offers 2GB RAM and 8GB internal storage.
During the presentation, Xiaomi highlighted how the Mi TV 2S boasts superior clarity, color & contrast when compared to offerings from rival TV manufacturers such as Samsung, Sony and Sharp:
The TV is aimed at a younger audience, and as such will be available in a variety of colors, including pink, blue, green and gold. Aggressive pricing has always been a mainstay of all Xiaomi products, and in this regard the Mi TV 2S doesn't disappoint with a price of 2,999 Yuan ($485). The TV will be going on sale in China with content deals from providers in the country such as Youku, BesTV, PPTV and much more.
