As Chinese smartphone-maker Xiaomi is eyeing an international push beyond China and into India, it is poaching yet another Google executive to help. After hiring away Android's VP of product management Hugo Barra from Google, Xiaomi has now hired Google Play strategy and analytics associate Jai Mani to help it head up engineering efforts in India.

According to Barra in an interview, Mani will be the "glue between our users in India, product feedback that we receive, and the engineering team we have in Beijing as well as the engineering team we are going to be building fairly soon."

Barra said that he and Mani had worked very closely together while the two were at Google.

Are you excited to see the new products that Xiaomi will be building for India?
