Hybrid covers really do come in all shapes and sizes, giving smartphone owners more peace of mind when those unforeseen drops occur. Where the Urban Armor Gear Case stands out amongst many other dual-layer cases is its ability to pack extra layers and grip in a lightweight, manageable form factor. Check out how it looks and performs with the Galaxy S6 in 5 available color options.
Without a doubt, this style case for the Galaxy S6 takes a certain kind of user to really appreciate its design. Straight out of the box it screams protection all around, even including a self-adhesive screen protector and matching microfiber cleaning cloth that's custom-cut for the Galaxy S6's display. Inside the case you'll notice UAG's honeycomb TPU core that's been fused with a hard composite shell. The back of the Galaxy S6 stays protected from wear thanks to this design and even leaves plenty of room to access the camera, flash and heart rate sensor.
One of my favorite features of the Urban Armor Gear Case is the textured edging. It provides a grip unlike any other case I've used, and you can easily differentiate the power and volume buttons from the surrounding texture. The back of the case is definitely the star of the show, though, with ridges that reach from top to bottom. A chrome UAG logo sits in the middle and actually compliments the entire case quite well. A series of mock screws sit around the perimeter, adding to its rugged composition. And, despite how busy this case's design is, the exterior feels rather smooth — aiding in its easy retrieval from pockets.
While wearing the case around the Galaxy S6 you gain protection on both fronts — meaning the raised lip around the display keeps you scratch free on any flat surface, and the bezel surrounding the camera does exactly the same. Port cover enthusiasts may frown at the lack of attached plugs to keep out dirt and debris, but personally, I find that a plus. The case as a whole meets military standards, and features a skid-free design that will keep your Galaxy S6 from slipping and sliding off any smooth surface.
For awesome protection against impacts without the extra bulk, the Urban Armor Gear Case is a win. The company offers a 1-year warranty, which shows they stand by their product. My personal favorite is the transparent ice, since it shows off the sleek back of the Galaxy S6. UAG also offers an ash color, which isn't shown here, but is a slightly darker version of the ice.
