Pierre Cardin introduces first designer tablet in the UK

Pierre Cardin, the famous brand created by the esteemed fashion designer, has released a 7-inch Android tablet. This makes it the first UK designer tablet to hit the market.

The fact that it runs Android 2.2 (Froyo) shows that it isn’t packing the latest specs, but fans of high fashion might take an interest.

Here are the specs:

  • 7-inch 800 x 480 screen
  • 1GHz Samsung Cortex A8 processor
  • 512 MB RAM
  • 4GB internal storage
  • SD card slot
  • Android 2.2 (Froyo)
  • 1.2MP front-facing camera
  • 720p playback
  • Android Market

Since this device has access to the Android Market, you will be able to use all of your Google services with it. The tablet costs £275 or approximately $450, so it's not a cheap device by any means. Anyone interested?

  • Niiice.... Sd card slot....
  • Soooo... Not only is it crap and over priced, they also lie about the specs? 800x480 does not 720p playback make!
  • I imagine they mean that it can handle playing 720p, not that you'll see it.
  • Frank Costanza: "Look George (shows Tie)....It's a Pierre Cardin!"
  • I'm waiting for a Van Heusen.
  • What's with the round apple home button?
  • If I wanted a full size SD slot I'd just go with the Toshiba Thrive... Really, the Thrive, Xoom, Galaxy Tab 10.1, Transformer, Viewsonic and Iconia are all superior and cheaper/same price. And for Froyo tabs, they're missing at least 2 more buttons, and I'd prefer all 4. Even moreso, Froyo = portrait, HC = Landscape. Why that camera position? That tab is just wrong on so many levels.
