The Philips Hue Play HDMI sync box is down to $199.99 at Best Buy. That's $30 off its regular price, and today Best Buy will throw in a $50 gift card, too. That's $80 in total savings with $30 saved directly off the price. We have seen other Philips Hue Play devices go on sale with this $50 gift card promotion but never the HDMI sync box. So this is a new sale and a great way to save if you want the ultimate smart lighting setup at home.

We reviewed the sync box back in December and gave it 4 stars out of 5 and a Recomennded badge. Nirave Gondhia said, "If you do have a Hue setup already and watch a lot of TV, the Hue Play Sync Box is a great device. Yes, there are some compromises you have to make, but the experience offered by the Hue Play Sync Box absolutely makes up for these. The Hue Play Sync Box is so good, it's replacing the LIFX setup behind my TV."

You do already need to have a Philips Hue Bridge with Philips Hue smart lights connected to it to make this work. We share a lot of deals on Philips Hue lights, so there's a good chance you've already got something setup. If not, you can look into an option like this 2-bulb starter kit that includes a couple of smart bulbs and the bridge and will work with the sync box.

This device syncs your Philips Hue lights to your TV screen. So whenever you're watching a movie or TV show, the smart lighting in the room around you will dance, flash, dim, or brighten in sync with that content. It even works with streaming media players or gaming consoles thanks to the four HDMI ports. It works with both white and multi-color bulbs.
