HTC slashes price of the RE Camera to just $50

HTC has discounted its RE Camera to just $50 — but one for today. You'll be able to bag yourself the portable shooter at a quarter of the original listing price, making the accessory a viable option when compared against the GoPro and other cameras.

The HTC RE is a 16-megapixel handheld camera that can connect to your smartphone to act as a view finder. In addition to the usual still photos, it can also handle video, time-lapse, and slow motion.

We're currently aware of this deal being valid for the U.S. only. Oh, and be sure to check through our RE Camera review before making the purchase.

  • Good to see that they have started pricing their devices with more SENSE than DESIRE... Posted via the Android Central App
  • This could truly be the ONE thing that will save HTC. From my Oneplus One via the new and awesome Material AC App
  • So are they getting ready for the next model? Posted via the Android Central App

  • That is a bummer.
  • It was worth it at $100, and I was waiting for it to drop so I could get another. Guess I'll get two now, lol. I read that particular review for the first time, and either the review unit was defective or the reviewer has jittery hands. I used it as a stealth camera in a poorly lit building, and had no problems with grainy shots, and blurry shots were very rare. My son is a professional photographer and wants one after borrowing mine out of curiosity for a wedding. Posted via the Android Central App

  • I'm in. At $50, this will be good for quick video while mountain biking, so I don't have to pull the phone out.
  • So, they slash the price of their camera to $50 while announcing that the A9's US price of $399 was only an introductory price and that it's real value is $499........
  • Just wondering if it would be a good dash cam for the truck via AC App on
    VZW Moto X DE/N7
  • It has a standard screw-type camera mount at the bottom, you couls probably mount it. Wide angle lens and HD. Probably work well.
  • Yes. I have a small tripod for mine and tested it out on my dash of my Ford and it worked very well. I may order a second one and a suction cup mount and keep it in there permanently.
  • The suction mount works well, and if you mount it upside-down near the top of the windshield, you can have it flip the movie. Posted via the Android Central App

  • It's back to its original price and sold out. Posted via the Android Central App

  • I just took mine on a cruise...this thing didn't let me down for the $130 I paid for it. I hope this isn't a fire sale Taking only my G4 and my Re-camera into the Parks.
  • So, did anyone else just get a big fat order cancellation email?
  • Yes, and didn't even THINK to look at the website. They could have at least given the reason rather than letting us think we accidentally cancelled it ourselves! Now I see it's sold out and may have been when placing the order except it didn't say Out of Stock while doing it. Was I THAT close to the end of them?
  • Response from HTC; Hello Shane, thank you for contacting HTC, At this moment we are gathering information on why this is happening to some of the orders. However, we are escalating this issue since there are multiple situations like this one. We're sorry for the inconviniences that this may cause, but we'll make sure to resolve it as soon as possible. Have a great weekend,
