HTC Exodus blockchain phone available for pre-order — if you have crypto

A little over five months since the phone was first announced, HTC is now opening pre-orders for the Exodus — it's mysterious new smartphone that's powered by blockchain.
Per a press release that went out today, HTC describes the Exodus as follows:
The EXODUS 1 provides the premium performance and quality of design expected from HTC's flagship device lineup and combines it with the blockchain technology and software necessary to create a smartphone experience fit for a modern user and the new internet age.
The back of the phone looks a lot like the HTC U12 from earlier in the year, featuring dual rear cameras, a fingerprint sensor, and a transparent back that showcases some of the phone's internals.
Pre-orders are available through HTC's Early Access Program, and if you want to pick up an Exodus for yourself, it'll cost you either 0.15 BTC or 4.78 ETH. In the true spirit of the blockchain, you can only purchase the Exodus using either Bitcoin or Ethereum. In USD, that comes out to around $950.
Shipments are expected go out sometime in December.

Blockchain or Blockheads? The U12+ & U12life appear to be shelf items. Now the EXODUS priced at 950.00 plus tax. Yikes, I guess there is more room on the shelf for this one too. A once great OEM reduced to ashes. No marketing or proper carrier distribution, a crying shame indeed!

HTC needs a new Hero. Pun intended.

I don't think HTC are far off having a phone that stands out the u11 was a great Ida and for me the u 12 pulled it off with the looks but never got pushed esp in the UK. For me if HTC can look at Nokia and build there phones at that price point but also offer one against the s9 and note and push the phones like mad than maybe just HTC can pull them slefts back up but then again there are smaller company's or now not to small the like the H who have taken over from HTC in the market and will be hard to see them come back.

HTC seem to excellent students of the Titanic.

I assume they're hoping to sell one, maybe two, of this thing...

HTC needs to be put out of its misery pronto. So depressing how these incredible phones they make are just totally shunned because of the retarded market who doesn't even know what HTC is.
-
I hate when people say stuff like this. You're really saying companies like HTC, essential, etc. should just stop trying, and there should be less companies out there for consumers to choose from? I keep hoping for the opposite.

Agreed. There's enough pessimism in the world already.

The HTC Exodus... From the smartphone market! XP

A great Flagship that will sell hundreds

Thanks for the laugh HTC.

Even Google didn't want to completely buy them out. Took the cream of the crop. Someone anybody please put them out of their self inflicted wounds, yikes!

I thought this company was gone already. And now they pop up with a phone that MIGHT sell if it were 2016, and people didn't have to jump through a hoop. This thing won't even have collector value. Someone just drive a stake into HTC's heart already and end it, this is sad.
