Achos has announced the latest tablet in its Gen 11 range, the Archos 101 XS 2.  It's a 10.1-inch 1280x800-resolution tablet with front-facing speakers and a Archos' "Coverboard" keyboard cover — a magnetic keyboard which clips onto the device. On the inside it's powered by an 1.6GHz quad-core CPU with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage, backed up by Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and the full complement of Google apps. Archos has also bundled OfficeSuite Pro 6 for MS Office document support, along with its own suite of media center apps for movie and TV show playback.

The tablet is due to arrive in the UK this December, priced £249.99 from Archos' own web store.

  • All tablets these days are pretty much the same besides minor software differences.
  • How about no? Archos has a history of making tablets with terrible build quality, low resolution screens, and buggy software. Posted via Android Central App
  • If you went solely off of the spec sheet (which you shouldn't), then he's entirely correct. Posted via Android Central App
  • Why don't companies try and push the barrier of what's available instead of churning out junk like this... this tablet offers nothing over what's out there for a similar price (that's far better can I add!)
  • Terrible resolution on that screen. Posted via Android Central App
  • Archos is dead to me. Posted via Android Central App
  • So is the world series but what's your point? Posted via Android Central App
  • Lol, damn. Posted via Android Central App
  • So they basically price it similar to the nexus 7 with inferior specs? GG.
  • 249.99 British Pound Sterling equals
402.66 US Dollar so its way over priced!
  • Yes archos is just not a name i trust and this to me is overpriced. Posted via Android Central App
  • Not interested. Dp Posted via Android Central App
