Sony has teased a smartphone with "greater focus" earlier this week, and it looks like the handset may turn out to be the Xperia Z5. A series of promotional photos of the phone were inadvertently published on Sony's social media channels, with the folks at Xperia Blog managing to get a hold of them before they were taken down.
The images reveal the Xperia logo on the side, and at least three color variants: gold, white and turquoise. The handset is rumored to feature a 1/2.3-inch 23MP Exmor RS camera with six-element lens, which will be the first real upgrade to the camera sensor since the Xperia Z1. A rumor from serial leakster Evan Blass also suggests that we'll see multiple variants of the device. While Sony is known to launch a standard-sized model and a compact edition, it looks like there will be a third model called the Xperia Z5 Premium.
The Xperia Z5 Premium is rumored to come with a QHD display, with the standard Xperia Z5 retaining the full-HD screen. Also, it looks like the power button on the side will feature a fingerprint scanner. With IFA around the corner, we don't have to wait long until all is revealed.
