Xiaomi's metal-clad Mi 4 is going up for sale for the first time in the India later today. The flash sale (open only to registered users) commences at 2 PM IST on Flipkart. The 16GB version is currently available in the country, with Xiaomi stating that the 64GB model will make its debut on February 24.
The higher storage variant will retail for Rs. 23,999 ($385), which is around $65 more than the price commanded by the 16GB version at Rs. 19,999 ($320). There is no mention of the color variants that will be on offer, with the 16GB model only being available in white.
As for the specs, the Mi 4 comes with a 5-inch full-HD display, 2.5 GHz Snapdragon 801 CPU, 3GB RAM, 13 MP camera at the back, 8 MP shooter at the front, Wi-Fi ac connectivity, Bluetooth 4.0, LTE bands for the Indian market and a 3,080 mAh battery. In terms of software, you get Android 4.4.4 KitKat atop Xiaomi's MIUI 6.
Xiaomi is also set to commence sales of the Redmi 2 in Taiwan on February 12. There is no word on when that particular handset will be available in India, but with sales of the Redmi 1S coming to a halt, it is possible we won't have to wait too long to find out.
