Tesco has launched the second generation of its Hudl tablet. The UK retailer has even put plans for a branded smartphone on hold just so everything can be focused on getting Hudl 2 out the doors and into the hands of consumers. The company has kept most of what made the Hudl unique, but has made some notable improvements.
There's an 8.3-inch Full HD display, thinner bezels, a 1.83GHz Intel Atom quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, stock Android 4.4 KitKat, 5-MP rear camera and 1.2-MP front-facing shooter, dual-band Wi-Fi, 16GB of internal storage (with microSD slot) and a fairly hefty battery. All the above in a sleek package for only £129 (£5 Clubcard points equates to £10 towards the tablet).
Tesco has also improved its protection for the younger audience. When first powering up the tablet, owners are asked if they wish to configure the Hudl 2 to block sensitive content, restrict the amount of time a child can use the product, and more. The Hudl 2 is available in multiple colors: black, blue, red, aqua, pink, orange and white.
The original Hudl will continue to be sold at £99 until stock has depleted. Will you be picking the Hudl 2 up from your local?
