Samsung Galaxy Tab A available in US starting May 1

Starting today you can pre-order the Samsung Galaxy Tab A from Samsung's site, and it will be making its way into several retailers on May 1. Running Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box, the Galaxy Tab A features 16GB of on-board memory along with a front and rear facing camera. Coming in both a 8-inch and 9.7-inch version, the Galaxy Tab A is designed for everyone in the family.

The Galaxy Tab A is designed to fit seamlessly into your life through useful features, from letting kids learn in Kids Mode, a fun and safe environment, to providing a personalized tablet experience in Multi User Mode. The Galaxy Tab A is the perfect fit for every member of your family both young and young-at-heart. Additionally, the tablet's 4:3 aspect ratio and Adaptive Display ensures the optimal viewing experience, automatically adjusting color gamut, contrast and sharpness to content on the screen -- making it a great tablet for reading, watching a movie or surfing the internet.

Starting today Samsung will be accepting pre-orders from their site, and on May 1 the devices will be available from other retailers such as Best Buy, HH Gregg and Amazon. Both sizes will be available in White, Smoky Titanium, and Smoky Blue, with the 8-inch tablet priced at $229.99, while the 9.7-inch will be $299.99.
