The Samsung Galaxy S5 Active has leaked many times but now the device has gone official on AT&T. Running a 2.5GHz quad-core processor and using Android 4.4 Kit Kat on a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED display with a 16MP camera, AT&T is releasing three colored variations in total. Camo Green, Titanium Gray and and Ruby Red. Keeping up with the previous Active devices the device is also shock resistant, water resistant, and dust proof.

If that's not enough to win your heart, the Galaxy S5 Active also includes the extra convenience key on the side which can be used to launch all of your apps related to outdoor activity. Plus you can track your heartbeat with the built-in heart rate monitor and keep count of your steps throughout the day, earn medals, and request on-demand nutrition tips with S-Health.

When it comes to pricing, you can pick up the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active exclusively from AT&T right now $199.99 with a two-year contract or $27.50 per month with AT&T Next 18 or $35.75 per month with AT&T Next 12. AT&T and Samsung are also taking $50 off a Samsung Gear Fit if you buy a Samsung Galaxy S5 Active.

It says NOW exclusively at ATT, I think the man is just hoping it will come to other carriers EVENTUALLY. Though I doubt it, but I know other carriers want to hop on the train after the success of the S4 Active on ATT. Did Verizon ever begin carrying the s4 active? I know sprint and tmo didnt, not sure about vw though.

This is the Galaxy S5 for people who really don't want to buy Otterboxes.

From my Moto X+1 running Android 5.0 in the world's worst dummy case

I'm rocking a Otterbox and a Zag Shield on my S4. Last time I dropped it, the dinosaurs went extinct.

I actually think I like this one.

I'm rough on phones with kayaking, camping, trailing, and not to mention, clumbsy office drops.

Is the specs and internals all the same, because I am able to upgrade now.

What would that look like, an active prime. Maybe Kevlar body construction with unscratchable bullet proof glass for a screen? Active prime, hmmm makes one think.

Some of us prefer the sleek look to the rugged look, not all of us run a terrible risk of dropping our phone or spilling stuff all over it. I run my babies caseless (or maybe a slim case) and never have any issues in the time periods I have them. I have the Dot View on my M8, and a small metallic bumper case on my G2, and never dropped either.

I want to wait for the Prime version but my S3 loses mobile data connectivity randomly throughout the day and I can't take it anymore. Might have to pick this bad boy up instead.

How can I get that gorgeous wallpaper I on the S5 active? Those mountains that fill up the background are beautiful. The lake in the foreground is so realistic and the trees in the middle ground compliment this Vista so well. I really want that wallpaper, but I cannot seem to find it. :'(
