Rovio needs no introduction, the developers of the Angry Birds franchise, Amazing Alex and Bad Piggies have hundreds of millions of downloads to their credit around the globe. Breaking away from Angry Birds once more, Rovio has teamed up with Dreamworks to produce the official game of forthcoming movie, The Croods.

Billed as 'the worlds first modern family,' The Croods will hunt and gather their way through the Stone Age catching creatures along the way. Not much in the way of gameplay is shared at this moment in time, although the few screenshots posted on the Rovio website indicate this is nothing like the Angry Birds style of gameplay.

The Croods will be available from the Google Play Store and the Amazon Appstore on March 14, and will be free to download.

Saw an advance screening earlier this month & I enjoyed the movie ... not sure how it'll translate to games, but it's Rovio so it'll almost certainly be worth at least a download to check it out.
