Sony showcased PS4 remote play functionality at this year's IFA, and now the manufacturer is rolling out the PS4 Remote Play app onto the Play Store. Featuring support for the Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Compact and Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact, PS4 Remote Play lets you stream full-fledged PlayStation 4 games to your mobile screen.
You can pair a PS4 Dualshock 4 wireless controller with remote play, and if you want to attach your smartphone or tablet to the controller, Sony has mentioned that it will offer a mount that will allow you to do just that. If you choose to play sans the controller, the controls will be overlaid onto the screen of the device you're playing on.
To enable remote play functionality, you need to update your PlayStation 4 to version 2.0, which is set to roll out later today, and then download the PS4 Remote Play app onto your Xperia device. A list of all remote play compatible handsets will be published soon.
