Pebble users can now take advantage of apps that support Android Wear notifications and interactions, all without having to do any additional legwork. At least if they're taking part in the beta testing program for the Android Pebble app. The 2.3 beta brings support for both Android Wear notifications and interactions, with no additional coding needed for the app developer to be Pebble-compatible if they've already gone for Android Wear support.
These notifications come in on the watch like any other notification, and will generally have all of the same options as you would on an Android Wear watch. Well, except for replying with voice dictation, since Pebble smartwatches don't have microphones built in. The Pebble team's posted videos showing off Pebble acting on Android Wear notifications from Google Hangouts (above) and Square Cash (below).
It could be a little while before we see this crazy feature come to the general release Pebble app, so if you're interested in trying this out and helping out with the Pebble beta program, hit up the source link below for more info. And who knows, maybe we'll see some other enterprising manufacturers hitting up the open nature of Android Wear notifications with their wearables.
