Singh use his Twitter feed (via Recode), to make the announcement:

Singh has been president of Google for Work for the past six years. His move over to Google's recently-launched VR unit may show that the company is becoming more serious about entering the virtual reality space. We should learn a lot more about Google's VR plans at its 2016 I/O developer conference next week. There's no word yet on who will replace Singh at Google for Work.
