Fieldrunners HD coming to Android this Thursday

It was supposed to be free, but since they can't convert a free app to paid they had to charge for it. But I'm still really looking forward to it and it'll be well worth the $1 pricetag.

Looks cool. But I am definitely not looking forward to another tower defense game... I have already bought about six and they are starting to get boring.

at least look into this one. I had this game on my iphone 3g and it's the only game i've missed since my switch to android since I haven't liked any of the TD games offered for android.

Haven't heard of this game, but another Tower Defense game? At least Android is finally starting to get good games now.

so this is tablet optimized. Other than the HD i haven't seen any signs or screen shots that show tablet optimization.

IT'S ABOUT TIME!

I have been unimpressed with the tower defense games on Android and this game was the only game left from IOS that I really, really, missed!

looks like my productivity is shot for tomorrow... :)

Meh. I'm happy with Plants vs. Zombies if I want to play a tower defense game. I will give it a try though if it is ever the daily free app on Amazon though.

Finally!!!!!!!!!!!!! Been waiting 2 years for this!!! I've emailed sub atomic! Had to buy an ipod touch just so I can playyy this just made my day!!

I sent them a very professional email quoting and pointing out the market scores and stats about android.

This made my day as well! :)

I am really excited for this! Fieldrunners is the best tower defense game out. This is going to make me very happy as well as make me very unproductive.

I missed this when I first switched to Android, but I ended up liking RoboDefense better anyway.

But this will be good to pick up regardless.

really? I tried robo defense and didn't like it at all. it just reminded me of a crappy knock off of field runners. maybe I should download it again and give it more than 5 minutes of my time :)

Truly Amazing! Now all we need is for Gun Bros Android version to be level pegging with the IOS version and the world will be at peace.

I don't get these people complaining about this being another TD game. A lot of iOS game are being ported to us which is a very good news.

Well I just checked the Fieldrunners site and found this . . .

http://fieldrunners.com/fieldrunners/fieldrunners-hd-launching-on-amazon...

Good news, everyone: Our dreams have come true – we’ll be releasing Fieldrunners HD for free for the first day! This is all courtesy of Amazon, who noticed the trouble we’d been having and offered to help us out. Thank you, Amazon! We’re very excited that we can now give the game away for free for the first day, and I hope you’re all looking forward to this, too. After all, we did this for you, the fans!

Unfortunately, this means that Fieldrunners HD will NOT be launching today. However, we’re hoping that making the game free for the first day of its release on Amazon will make up for this. We understand that non-US fans won’t be able to purchase the game while it’s in the Amazon Appstore – we feel your pain! Our exclusivity period with Amazon will last two weeks, after which we will release Fieldrunners HD on other marketplaces that you will be able to access. Our official release day on Amazon is still undecided, but it should be sometime very soon, and we will let you all know when it’s available… for free.

Again, we’re very sorry about the delays. We wanted to give the game away for free to thank you all for your support, and Amazon stepped up in a big way, giving us the resources needed to make this happen

I know it is free but VERY Lame that it does not run on tablets though. I mean what does the HD mean then if it cannot run on more hi-res devices? On my Nook Color it's display is as small as an iPhone screen with the rest of the screen black. Seriously? All other TD games work well with it so there really is no excuse, just poor programming. I have read others with a GT 10.1 also have this issue.

I still gave it a 5 star rating as I enjoyed it on my iPad (hey it was free) and am glad to see it for Android but still.. LAME...

I am enjoying "Myth Defense: Light Forces", it is more involved and the graphics are great! I think it is a better game. I also like "GRave Defense HD", the HD truly means it runs on tablets!!
