Droid X for 10 bucks

The Motorola Droid X has just seen an across the board price drop, ranging from $149.99 (with a 2 year agreement) at Verizon's website, to a whopping $9.99 (see above) with a two year plan at Costco.  A big player in the price reduction may be the fact that Motorola has decreased the internal memory from 16 GB to 2 GB.  Or maybe it has something to do with the Droid X2 leak that came and went and the X is reaching the end of its short life.

In any case, if you've been eyeing one, now would be a good time to grab it before its too late, and maybe you'll get lucky and find one on the shelf that still has the 16 GB of memory.  [Android Central forums] Thanks anon and everyone who sent this one in!

Its even changed on the Motorola site already. 2GB MicroSD listed...

I guess Verizon figures that everyone who cares about the larger card being installed either has or would have bought the DX by now.

I remember that woman giving the first look at the Dx. She was outdoors at some city cafe, sounded nervous to even be holding it. Lol

That title is a little erroneous. The internal memory, 8GB, hasn't changed. It's the pre-installed 16GB micro sdcard that has seen a capacity drop.

That's a great price

The "internal" memory fooled me too

Me too

It is not "memory", it is "storage"! Memory = RAM.

Considering you can install a customer launcher like Launcher Pro and never see or hear from Motoblur again ... that's a pretty inaccurate statement to say the least ....

goblueboy says:

not worth buying imo. LOCKED BOOTLOADERZ even if you don't fancy your self a custom rom-er. motoblur is crapware

El Jefe says:

We can root, we have ROMS, we can overclock/undervolt. The only thing we can't do is install custom kernels. Big deal.

All of this "Motorola is bad because of locked bootloaders" nonsense is overrated. I wouldn't trade my DX for anything HTC has released to this point.

IceDree says:

People are making a big deal out of it
they go like "Don't buy Motorola , they have a locked bootloader"
So what if it was locked ? Big deal

The only thing will make me change my MileStone is the Atrix (or GSM Droid X , but we know that its not gonna happen"

Mr. B says:

Since the price has dropped does this mean the Droid X won't
be getting the Gingerbread update?

Only 10 bucks? Holy crap.

upgraded my line, after taxes cost me $65. it came with 16 gig sd card, internal memory is at 8 gigs. worth it for me, my account has an available upgrade all the time, so when the latest and greatest drops, i sell this one and cover the new phone.

How?

I'm not completely up to date with the specs. Is this internal irremovable memory? or MicroSD memory? If its internal memory then that's definitely a Fail.

Jet300 says:

Its just the MicroSD card ... No big whoop ... Buy the DX for 10 bucks and go to Amazon and buy a 16GB card for $20-$25. Its still a great deal.

Looks like the DX has reached the point in it's sales life where vendors are trying to reduce the inventory of their units. Moto also probably has/is starting to wind down production as well.
